Dear Readers,
We started the area’s first Best Of Poll nine years ago to celebrate the best businesses and organizations in our community. While we know this has been a difficult year in business for so many, we thought that made it all the more important to continue with our poll, so our readers could show their support for all the local places they love.
Over the last few months as we’ve connected with our fellow small business owners, we’ve heard time and time again, that if it were not for longtime customers and the community rallying behind them, they may have had to close their doors.
To everyone who has supported a small, local business these past few months, whether it was liking a social media post, buying a product, ordering food, or sharing a shout out online, we thank you! Every order, sale and positive review means a lot to those that are working extra hard to follow every safety protocol, have had their location temporary closed and have had to adapt to a new way of doing business.
We love our community and enjoy celebrating its people, places and events each month in the pages of the Westchester/Playa HomeTown News. We look forward to our Best Of Readers’ Poll every year as our super-sized way to highlight some of the best things that make up our area. With so many excellent restaurants, businesses and organizations in our hometown, we love giving you—our readers—an annual opportunity to vote for your favorites. You are the real experts, and you’ve been helping us honor these outstanding individuals and businesses since 2012. Thank you for being a part of recognizing those who make our community a special place to live, work and visit, especially during this time.
Best Of voting took place between June 5th to June 26th by accessing our surveymonkey.com poll. Voting was limited to one vote per IP address and participants had to vote in at least 10 categories.
The results of our 2020 Best Of Readers’ Poll are located on the following pages. Each category contains a “Best Of” honoree and two runner-up “Favorites.” While this poll is a fun way to celebrate the best of our community, it only represents a small portion of all the great things that make up our neighborhood. If you don’t see your favorites on this year’s list, please vote next year!
We hope you’ll consider patronizing our Best Of honorees and finding some new favorites. Make sure to tell them the HTN sent you!
